Data Analysis ToolPak on a Chromebook

If your course asks for Excel's Data Analysis button and you have a Chromebook, you have hit a real gap: the Analysis ToolPak is an add-in for desktop Excel on Windows and Mac, and Excel for the web does not include it.

Run the same tools in Google Sheets

  1. Open your data in Google Sheets (upload an .xlsx file with File, Import if your instructor gave you one).
  2. Click Extensions, Add-ons, Get add-ons, search StatPak and install it.
  3. Open Extensions, StatPak, Data Analysis and pick the same tool your assignment names: Regression, Anova: Single Factor, t-Test: Paired Two Sample for Means, Descriptive Statistics, Histogram and the rest.

The output tables use the same rows, labels and layout as Excel's, so you can compare them line by line with your textbook or answer key.

Submitting as Excel

If you must hand in an .xlsx file, use File, Download, Microsoft Excel. The result tables are plain values and keep their layout.
